A new Primary Care Centre for Tubbercurry has been the given the green light.
Planning permission was recently granted by Sligo County Council and Capital Funding of €7.42 million has been allocated for the project.
The centre, which will be located behind the existing health centre, is now at design phase stage.
Tubbercurry Primary Care centre will offer a number of services including two GP practices, Public Health Nursing/ Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dental, Psychology, Community Diagnostics including X-Ray, Dexa scan and Ultrasound and a part time ambulance base.
There will also be a number of bookable MDT rooms for visiting clinics such as Speech and Language therapy, dietetics etc.
The new centre is part of the ECC programme, which aims to enhance and increase community health services and reducing pressure on hospital services and provide access to consultant-led specialist services in the community.
It is hoped work will begin onsite early in 2024 with the project completed by mid 2025.
