Today’s Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting of Leitrim County Council will hear calls for the national strategy of public transport to accommodate all potential users of public transport in rural areas.
Local Councillor Felim Gurn say transport providers need to look at the times and schedules of buses, as well as considering who is using the service.
The Independent Councillor says bus schedules between Manorhamilton and larger towns such as Sligo and Enniskillen need to be flexible to meet demand and that the strategy also needs to consider the night time economy in rural areas.
