The Sligo Traveller Support Group has endorsed the calls in asking the government to extend the ban on ‘no fault’ evictions.
It comes as TDs are set to vote on the issue in the Dáil later tonight.
Data from the Residential Tenancy Board shows that 4,741 notices to quit were issued by landlords in the three months leading up to when the eviction ban was announced in October.
Meanwhile, the Government’s agreed to introduce a tax package in the budget for small landlords to keep them in the market.
