Fairytale for New York as Leitrim beaten on penalties



New York gaelic footballers secured their first-ever win in the Connacht Senior Football Championship on Saturday night with a penalty shoot-out victory over Leitrim.

The sides had finished level at 0-15 each after extra-time.

Leitrim missed all four of their penalties in the shootout – while New York converted two to secure an historic victory.

The win sends New York into a Connacht semi-final in two weeks’ time.

Leitrim head for the Tailteann Cup .
