High winds delay start of Sunday play at West of Ireland

High winds at County Sligo Golf Club delayed the start of Sunday’s third round of strokeplay at the Connolly’s Audi Centenary West of Ireland Championship in Rosses Point.

Play began 8am on Sunday – but organisers opted to call players in as golf balls were being blown off the greens by the high winds.

Conditions improved slightly later on Sunday morning – with tournament officials opting to restart play at 10:45am.

Donegal’s Cian Harkin leads the field on Level par going into round three.

The top 16 golfers at the end of Sunday’s play will qualify for Monday’s matchplay stages.

Ocean FM Sport will broadcast live from Co Sligo Golf Club today from 2-7pm, presented by Austin O’Callaghan.
