A Donegal Councillor is calling on Minister for Housing to increase grant level for people wishing to refurbish vacant and derelict properties.
Currently grants are available for the refurbishment of vacant properties under the Croí Cónaithe scheme.
Currently, the total grant available for a derelict property is a maximum of €50,000.
Councillor Barry Sweeney has welcomed the government decision to extend the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant, however an increase would reflect the costs involved in renovating a vacant or derelict property.
