It’s been claimed that some quarries in west and north west have yet to be investigated for potentially producing defective concrete blocks.
The National Building Control and Market Surveillance Office were tasked with carrying out an audit but it’s believed that they still don’t have access to some quarries for the purpose of testing blocks.
The comments were made in the Dail by Donegal TD Padraig MacLochlainn who says it’s clear that there has not been full accountability despite the issue set to cost the taxpayer billions of euro.
