Sligo County Council have called on SIPTU and the retained firefighters to reconsider their proposed industrial action.
It comes as fire services across the country are gearing up for an all-out strike, starting next week.
Industrial action began this week, with 50% of retained firefighters around the country striking on a rolling basis.
In the statement, Sligo County Council described the escalation to a full strike as “concerning”, and assured members of the public that emergency calls made to 999 or 112 will still be answered and responded to.
