A status yellow thunderstorm and rain warning has been issued for counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
The warning will remain in place until 10 o’clock tonight.
Met Éireann says the affected areas will see thunderstorms bringing frequent lightning, heavy downpours, gusty winds and the chance of hail which could result in localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
