Sligo Rovers struggles in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division continued on Friday night as bottom-of-table UCD came from a goal down to win 2-1 at UCD Bowl.
Rovers remain third from bottom in the table despite the loss as the team below them, Cork City, lost 2-0 to Derry City.
Rovers took the lead in the opening half through a deflected effort from David Cawley.
However, UCD were level in the second half when Sammy Clarke charged down an attempted clearance by Rovers goalkeeper Luke McNicholas – and the ball rebounded straight to the net.
UCD’s winner arrived on 86 minutes when Jake Doyle headed home Alex Nolan’s free-kick.
