Number waiting at Sligo University Hospital remains high



There were a total of 34 patients waiting for a bed at the north west’s two main hospital’s this morning.

According to figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, there were just 4 waiting on trolleys at Letterkenny University Hospital.

The figure was substantially higher at Sligo University Hospital, where 30 were waiting this morning.

University Hospital Limerick remains the country’s most overcrowded facility with 87 waiting for a bed there this morning.

Nationally, this morning’s figure stood at 412.
