There were over 50 patients waiting for a bed at the north west's two main hospitals this morning.
There were a were a total 29 patients on trolleys at Sligo University Hospital according to figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
This morning's figure is an increase of 5 on Thursday.
The were also 29 waiting at Letterkenny University Hospital this morning, 2 less than Thursday morning.
University Hospital Limerick remains the country's most overcrowded facility with 80 waiting for a bed there this morning.
Nationally, this morning's figure stood at 301.
