Donegal County Council has contacted Government agencies with a view towards getting compensation for residents hit by the weekends flooding event in east Donegal.
A significant amount of homes and businesses including Killygordon and Castlefin have been damaged as a result of heavy rainfall on Saturday.
The Council has confirmed that it has notified the National Directorate for Fire & Emergency Management of the flooding incidents.
More details are expected today.
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Councillor Martin Harley has praised the response of the local community to the flooding and says the local authority will do everything possible to assist.
