Further energy supports ‘will do little’ to help ordinary people of Sligo



Further energy supports for households and businesses will do little to help the ordinary people of Sligo.

 

That’s according to Sinn Fein Cllr Arthur Gibbons who was reacting to some possible measures contained in the upcoming Budget.

 

The financial support will be funded from the proceeds of the Energy Windfall Tax, the final part of which was agreed by Government this week.

 

Consumers’ bills remain high despite wholesale energy prices falling and Cllr Gibbons says the Government need to go after companies to tackle the core of the issue:
