Donegal captured the ZucCar All-Ireland minor ‘C’ football championship title on Saturday with a memorable 1-14 to 1-9 victory over Waterford in Kinnegad.
It’s just county’s second All-Ireland minor title, having previously won the ‘A’ championship in 2009.
A late goal from Abbie McGranaghan sealed victory for Donegal, who had held a three point advantage at half-time and dominated possession in the second-half.
However, a Kaci Brazil penalty brought the Deise back to within three of their opponents. Donegal held firm and McGranaghan’s goal late on was enough to secure the win.
Muff’s Ava Walsh was named Player of the Match.
The team received a big welcome at the Diamond in Donegal Town on Saturday night.
