Motorist in Ballina clocked speeding at 166km/h in a 100km/h zone



A driver was clocked travelling at 166km/h in a 100km/h zone in Ballina over the Bank Holiday weekend.

 

It’s part of figures released by Gardai from their road safety campaign last weekend.

 

Three people died on Ireland’s roads – one fatality occurring in Donegal – and there were eight serious car crashes that resulted in life threatening injuries.

 

196 people were arrested for drink or drug driving, while 1,143 people got fines and penalty points for speeding.
