Number waiting at north west hospitals remains high



There were 65 people on trolleys in the north west’s two main hospitals this morning.

Letterkenny University Hospital had 34 people waiting for a bed this morning, making it the fourth most overcrowded facility in the country.

The remaining 31 people waiting were in Sligo University Hospital.

University Hospital Limerick continues to be the busiest hospital, with 98 people awaiting admission there.

Nationwide, there were 497 people on trolleys in hospitals around the country today, 362 of whom were in emergency departments.
