Survey shows demand for Irish Commissioner for Aging and Older People



A recent survey carried out by Active Retirement Ireland hs shown that up to 94% of older people would like to see an Irish Commissioner for Aging and Older People.

Among the respondents to the survey were members of Active Retirement associations in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

The survey was carried out in March and April of this year, and among the main findings were that older people feel that their needs are not being met.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Alison Bough, Head of Policy and Programmes with Active Retirement Ireland, said Ireland’s older generation feel marginalised by the government.
