Tributes continue for late Bishop Emeritus Liam MacDaid



Tributes continue to be paid to former Bishop Emeritus of Clogher Liam MacDaid who has died at the age of 78.

He was ordained to the Priesthood in 1969 and became Bishop of Clogher from 2010 until his retirement on health grounds in October 2016.

He worked tirelessly in the community; in his time he was President of St Macartan’s College in Monaghan, Administrator of the Parish of Tyholland as well as serving in the roles of Diocesan Secretary and Chancellor of the diocese.

Archbishop of Armagh Eamon Martin says Bishop MacDaid was ‘a gentle shepherd with a wealth of wisdom and pastoral experience and motivated by a warm concern for others.
