Westlife have ruled out a Sligo gig as part of their upcoming international tour – but it is something the band would consider in the future.
Westlife last played in their home town as part of a series of concerts that took place in Lissadell in 2010.
Speaking today, singer Shane Filan was asked about playing Sligo and although he admitted the band would love to play there, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting a gig date any time soon.
He said: ‘Playing Sligo is definitely something we’ll do again, not anytime soon probably as we’ve lots of international touring for the next 12 months, but perhaps the next big tour, whenever that is.
‘We won’t be playing Ireland again for a while either as we just did big gigs last year but the next time we tour Ireland, we’d love to play Sligo.’
