50 awaiting admission at north west hospitals



There were 50 people on trolleys in the north west’s two main hospitals this morning.

Letterkenny University Hospital had 28 people waiting for a bed this morning, making it the joint-third most overcrowded facility in the country.

The remaining 22 people waiting were in Sligo University Hospital.

University Hospital Limerick continues to be the busiest hospital, with 71 people awaiting admission there.

Nationwide, there were 367 people on trolleys in hospitals around the country today, 268 of whom were in emergency departments.
