A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for a number of counties including counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
Met Éireann says heavy rain is likely along with thundery downpours on Friday evening and Friday night.
Spot flooding and difficult travelling conditions can all be expected.
The warning is valid from 5pm this evening until 6.00am on Saturday morning.
