Number waiting at north west hospitals remains high



There were 58 people waiting for a bed at the north west’s two main hospital this morning according to figures published by the INMO.

Letterkenny University Hospital was the fourth most overcrowded hospital in the country for the second day in a row according to figures published by the INMO.

This morning’s figures show there were 34 waiting for a bed at the facility this morning, an increase of 4 on Tuesday morning’s figures.

Meanwhile, there were 24 people waiting for a bed in Sligo University Hospital, a decrease of 5 on previous figures.

University Hospital Limerick continues to be the most overcrowded hospital, with 94 people awaiting admission there.

Nationwide, there were 509 people on trolleys in hospitals around the country today, 375 of whom were in emergency departments.
