An investigation is underway into an alleged attempt by a man to lure a young teenage girl into his car in Sligo.
The incident is reported to have happened at around 9pm last night.
The 16 year old was out walking on the Rosses Point Road when a man, reportedly driving a white saloon car with foreign plates, pulled up beside her.
It’s understood that the man then opened the car door and made attempts to lure the girl in however he drove off when his attempts proved unsuccessful.
The matter has been reported to Gardai and anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
Anyone who was travelling in the area of Cartron View or Sea view Drive and who may have dash cam footage is being asked to make this available to Gardai.
