The funeral of a Bundoran native and former Bishop of Clogher who died earlier this month will take place later this morning.
The funeral mass of Most Reverend Bishop Emeritus Liam MacDaid with an address in Monaghan town will take place in St. Macartan’s Cathedral in Monaghan at 12 noon.
He will be laid to rest afterwards in the Cathedral grounds.
Bishop Emeritus MacDaid was ordained to the Priesthood in 1969 and became Bishop of Clogher from 2010 until his retirement on health grounds in October 2016.
He worked tirelessly in the community; in his time, he was President of St Macartan’s College in Monaghan, Administrator of the Parish of Tyholland as well as serving in the roles of Diocesan Secretary and Chancellor of the diocese.
