Increasing Garda age limit “smacks of desperation”



Increasing the Garda age limit “smacks of desperation”, according to a former Donegal Sergeant.

 

The government is considering extending the limit, which could see people aged 45 or 50 becoming Garda recruits.

 

At the moment, the upper age limit is 35, but the Irish Independent reports ‘radical fresh proposals’ are being considered to increase numbers.
