Sligo RNLI respond to call-out

The Sligo Bay-based RNLI lifeboat responded to a call-out last night.

After being tasked by the coast guard at 8.58pm, the RNLI discovered a small fishing boat with three people onboard, not in difficulty and all wearing lifejackets making their way to shore.

The fishing boat made its own way home as the lifeboat stood off to ensure they were safety back ashore before returning to the station to wash down and refuel, ready for service.

The RNLI are reminding the public if you think someone is in difficulty don’t delay call 999/122 and ask for the Coast Guard.
