Sligo, Leitrim, and Donegal County Councils are to receive an increase in Local Property Tax baseline funding from Government.
Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien has announced a €75.4m for local authorities across the country following a review of how the money is allocated.
€1.5 million has been announced for each council with Sligo County Council’s fund increased to over €11.7m in 2024.
The Leitrim local authority also sees an increase to its funding at €10.45m for 2024 while Donegal County Council will see its fund increased to over €26.6m for next year.
Every Council receives a baseline amount of funding from the Local Property Tax, supplemented by funding from the exchequer where a local authority’s Local Property Tax income is lower than its baseline.
