Donegal Senator Niall Blaney has confirmed he will be running in the next European Parliament elections.
He has stated his intention to run as one of Fianna Fáil’s candidates for the Midlands-North West region.
Earlier this week, Mayo-based Senator and fellow Fianna Fáil member, Lisa Chambers, also announced that she will be contesting next year’s European elections, despite Fianna Fáil currently having no seats in the region.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Senator Blaney said that although it will ultimately be the convention who decides, he’s not sure if two candidates running is the best idea.
