Hopes cross-border councils can work together

Calls have been made to reopen the partnership between Sligo County and Fermanagh and Omagh District Councils.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and the Municipal District of Lifford/Stranorlar have previously held meetings, with one Sligo Councillor hopeful the local authority call follow suit.

The aim of the committee is to explore ways in which cross-border communities can work together.

Sligo-Drumcliff Municipal District Councillor Dónal Gilroy believes it would be of benefit of both communities and build a strong partnership between the two.
