‘Historic’ Oireachtas Committee meeting taking place on Arranmore Island

The Joint Committee on Social Protection, Communities and Rural Development are meeting this morning on Arranmore Island off the coast of Donegal.

It’s the first time ever for a public Committee meeting to take place on an offshore island.

The historic meeting is being chaired by Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Denis Naughten.

This meeting will hear submissions on climate neutrality, sustainability, housing and energy security on off-shore islands and how innovative technology can be used to improve health services on off-shore islands.
