Leitrim’s senior football title holders St Mary’s are back in the Connacht Gold championship decider on Sunday, October 8th, following Sunday’s 0-12 to 1-6 semi-final win over Ballinamore in dreadful conditions in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Heavy rain on Sunday made underfoot conditions difficult for both semi-finals – but Mary’s dealt better with the elements to beat Sean O’Heslin’s by three.
They will, once again, face Mohill who needed extra-time to beat Fenagh/St Caillin’s in Sunday’s first semi-final.
The county final will be broadcast live by TG4 on October 8th.
St Mary’s manager Alan Fynn hailed his players character when he spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s PJ Leddy after the win:
Mohill manager Eamonn O’Hara also spoke to PJ Leddy.
