North West set to escape worst of Storm Agnes



The North West region is set to escape the worst of Storm Agnes as it makes landfall this morning, with a Status Yellow wind warning now in place for Leinster, Munster and Galway, along with a separate rain warning for 5 other counties in Leinster.

 

Meanwhile a Status Orange wind alert for Cork, Kerry, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Tipperary and Waterford kicks in from 9am.

 

Cork, Kerry and Waterford will also be placed under a Status Orange rain warning at the same time.

 

Met Eireann is warning the weather could lead to localised flooding and power outages in parts throughout the day.
