The former local election candidate Baline Gaffney has confirmed that he will not contest the next local elections.
Mr Gaffney ran as Fine Gael candidate in the 2019 Council elections in the Sligo Strandhill Municipal District. He worked in the past for local TD's Tony McLoughlin and Frank Feighan.

He announced the news last night in a statement on his social media pages citing family and work commitments as the reasons for his decision.
