Disbelief in Dunkineely after application for emergency project is rejected



There’s outrage in Dunkineely following a decision by the Department of Education to reject a proposal to establish a set down area outside the local national school.

 

It was submitted following major safety concerns for both children and their parents crossing the road in the village, with an almost near miss with a lorry recently while some of them were on the pedestrian crossing.

 

The local school put forward an application to the department requesting emergency funding to construct a set down area however the Department didn’t deem it as an emergency.
