The death has taken place of John McNabola, the former Town Clerk of Sligo Corporation.
John held the position of Town Clerk from 1983 until his retirement in 2009.
He was a well-respected and popular local authority official, and known as a diligent worker, who always promoted the importance of the Corporation and the work it did.
John previously held other roles with Sligo Corporation, which he joined in 1983, and he also worked with Leitrim County Council.
He was a native of Kilnagross in Co Leitrim
