Almost 5,000 Ukrainian refugees living in Ocean FM franchise area



There are almost five thousand Ukrainian refugees currently living in the Ocean FM franchise area.

 

South Donegal has the highest number of people in emergency accommodation.

 

Figures from the CSO show that there are currently 2,052 people from Ukraine currently living the south Donegal area, the highest number in Donegal and in the North West region.

 

This is followed by the Sligo – Drumcliffe MD, where there are 1,062 Ukrainian people currently residing.

 

Next is the Sligo – Strandhill MD with 984 refugees living there.

 

In the Manorhamilton MD, there are 393 refugees listed as living there.

 

While there are 354 Ukrainian refugees living in the Ballymote – Tubbercurry TD.

 

Meanwhile the data also shows that Donegal also has the highest number of Ukrainian children enrolled in local schools.

 

There are 916 children in primary education and a further 607 in secondary.

 

This is followed by Sligo with 306 Ukrainian children in primary education and 203 in secondary schools.

 

In Leitrim there are 233 children from Ukraine in primary education and a further 165 enrolled in secondary schools.
