Shamrock Rovers’ 2-0 win over St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday night at Inchicore clinched a fourth consecutive SSE Airtricity Premier Division title.
Goals in the closing quarter from former Sligo Rovers player Aaron Greene and Graham Burke sealed the win and the title for the Dublin Rovers.
Cork City lost 1-0 to Derry City at Turners Cross – a result which all but assures Sligo Rovers of their Premier Division safety ahead of Saturday final home league game of the season against Drogheda United (6pm).
