North west youths to be honoured at Garda National Awards



Young people from counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal will be awarded for positive contributions in their communities at an event in Portlaoise on Saturday.

 

 

The Garda National Youth Awards, now in its fourth year, are to be recognised for the meaningful work they do nationwide.

 

 

25 people aged between 13 and 21 will receive awards.

 

 

The inaugural Divisional Garda Youth Awards was held in 1995 having been established by Garda James O’Mahony.

 

In 2019, the National Garda Youth Awards were established by Garda Commissioner, Drew Harris.
