Callum Devine and co-driver Noel O’Sullivan claimed victory in a closely fought battle in the 2023 Teac Bhillie Donegal Harvest Rally. This was the Derry man’s third straight Harvest win.
“Tony Boyle and his team put on a tough test for us today and I am delighted to take the win,” said Devine, who won the Donegal International Rally earlier this year.
“The Harvest in 2019 was my first outright rally win.
“It has been a busy year and a great way to finish the year with another win – and makes planning 2024 a lot easier.”
It was a bright sunny day that greeted the crews as they left the Errigal Training Centre in Falcarragh, the previous few days of rain had left the roads very slippery, but it was Devine who snatched the fastest time on stage one a lead he would not relinquish all day.
Eamonn Kelly was his closest challenger all day and took a well-deserved second. In third was Desi Henry had Annagry man Paddy Robinson on the notes, the pairing felt they could have been closer to the top but for a sensor issue on SS3 and SS4.
Declan Gallagher and Gavin Doherty claimed the coveted two-wheel drive win in their Toyota Starlet ahead of the MKII Escort with Mark Alcorn behind the wheel.
