Garda management has come under fire again over not having enough checkpoints in the North West.

 

It comes one motorist was caught speeding at 149 km per hour in a 100km zone in Sligo over the weekend – they were later found to be without tax for over a year and a half.

 

Meanwhile four motorists in Donegal were also detected driving under the influence of drink or drugs on Saturday night.

 

But Chair of the Donegal Joint Policing Committee Cllr Gerry McMonagle believes that there would be far more people apprhended if the Garda resources were put in place:
