The two sitting Fine Gael councillors have been selected as the party’s candidates for the upcoming local elections in the Sligo-Drumcliffe Municipal District.
Tom Fox and Thomas Walsh were selected by local party members at Friday night’s convention at the Sligo Park Hotel and will be put forward on the Fine Gael ticket.
The elections are due to be held in June of next year.
Elsewhere, the Fine Gael selection convention for the Ballymote-Tubbercurry Municipal District takes place on Monday.
Three sitting Councillors- Martin Connolly, Gerard Mullaney and Dara Mulvey will be seeking nominations along with Patrick Cleary.
