Donegal looking to build privacy fence at Convoy Training Centre

Donegal supporters in London are being asked to raise money for a number of additions to the county’s training centre in Convoy, including a new fence “to give privacy”.

The Examiner newspaper reported on Friday that The €55,000 embellishment around the perimeter of the training pitch is aimed at keeping prying eyes away from sessions.

The London arm of Team Donegal’s fundraising initiative have been seeking donations of £5,000 and £2,500, the larger contribution guaranteeing the sponsor the opportunity to buy four Ulster and All-Ireland final tickets should Donegal reach the deciders.

It’s understood that a number of donors have already committed money with some bigger contributions having also been made.

Prospective sponsors have been told that their financial backing will go directly to the fencing, gym equipment and nutritionist.

Senior team manager Jim McGuinness spoke to ex-pats at a Donegal GAA event in London in early October.
