Police investigating IRA graffiti as a hate crime



The spraying of the letters ‘IRA’ on the side of a building in Enniskillen is being treated as a hate crime.

 

An investigation is continuing into the incident which took place at the Clinton Centre, close to a memorial to the Enniskillen bomb victims.

 

Eleven people who had gathered for a remembrance event in the county Fermanagh town were killed in the IRA blast in 1987 while dozens were injured.

 

A twelfth victim died 13 years later having never woken from a coma.

 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has any information which could assist, is asked to contact them on 101, quoting 1600 26/11/23.
