Former Sligo Rovers captain David Cawley has joined First Division Finn Harps for the 2024 League of Ireland season.
The signing was announced by Harps on Wednesday afternoon.
Cawley, who has over 300 Premier Division to his name across spells with Sligo Rovers, St. Patrick’s Athletic and Galway United.
He was suprisingly released at the Showgrounds at the end of last season, at the end of a campaign that saw him receive Club Testimonial from Rovers.
The Ballina man, who’s 32, brings a wealth of experience to a young Harps squad eager to improve in 2024 and compete for promotion.
Cawley told Finnharps.ie: “I’m delighted to sign with Finn Harps for next season. When I got the call from Kevin (McHugh) and he spoke about their plans for the year and where I fit in I knew it was the right move for me.”
Harps will open their First Division campaign on Saturday, February 17th, away to Longford Town.
