Another candidate has confirmed their intentions to contest next year’s local elections.
Local farmer, secondary school teacher. environmentalist and community activist James Gilmartin has thrown his hat in the ring for the Manorhamilton Municipal District.
Mr Gilmartin will run as an Independent candidate and will look to secure one of the six seats on Leitrim County Council that will be available in the Manorhamilton Electoral area.
He says he will be contesting the election on a number of issues that will be central to the needs of the electorate in north Leitrim.
