Donegal manager Jim McGuinness has received an eight-week sideline suspension for fielding an ineligible player in last week's McKenna Cup game against Armagh in Ballybofey, according to a report from BBC Sport.
Corner-back Finbarr Roarty was just 17 when he played against Armagh last Wednesday night – a day before his 18th birthday.
The GAA's rulebook says that players must be 18 years of age on January 1st of the year in question before they can play senior intercounty football or hurling.
Donegal also lose the points from their 3-16 to 1-6 win over Armagh.
However, it's understood the points are not awarded to the Orchard County as they did not appeal.
Donegal do have the option of appealing the sanction imposed on their manager.
