A man has been arrested following a road traffic accident last night.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving cars, which occurred on the R294 at Glenavoo at around 10.20pm last night.
One car left the road, and its driver failed to remain at the scene.
A man in his 30s has been arrested and is currently being detained at a Mayo Garda station.
The road has since reopened and investigations are ongoing.
