Sligo’s Gearoid McDaid has been shortlisted for the Breakthrough of the Year Award by Irish outdoor adventure magazine, Outsider.
The annual awards celebrate all the achievements, milestones and contributions that have taken place in communities over the past year.
McDaid is a six-time winner of the Irish National Surfing Championship and picked up a silver medal at the European Surfing Federation Championships 2023 in Portugal.
He’s been nominated for the award off the back of those achievements last year.
