Tensions spilled over in the Dáil this morning which resulted in Sligo Leitrim Independent TD, Marc MacSharry, walking out mid-debate.
Deputy MacSharry had brought a motion forward regarding delays in appeals by An Bord Pleanála.
He raised the issue of a house in Sligo that lodged an appeal against a planning objection in June 2023, and has still received no response.
This was compared to a similar situation in Louth, where an appeal was lodged in October, and a response issued at the start of February.
Unsatisfied with Minister Malcolm Noonan’s response, Deputy MacSharry then left the Chamber, drawing criticism from both the Minister and the Leas Ceann-Chomhairle.
